Cause of Migraine
Know What Your Cause Of Migraine Is
If you suffer from migraine headaches you need to be
particularly aware of the cause of migraine. Your
migraine headaches can be lessened by you putting in the effort
to avoid them.
Although the cause of migraine is
unclear there are many symptoms of migraine headaches, and
things that can start, or trigger, your migraine headache so
knowing what they are and then making the effort to dodge them
is the ideal way of reducing or even preventing the continued
onslaught of your headaches.
But, for effective migraine headaches treatments you need to
know what starts your migraines as opposed to the actual
cause of
migraine. There is no one size fits all solution for every
victim. We are all individuals and as such there will be
different things that trigger each of our headaches.
However as long as you are aware of the most common triggers
you will be able to identify when they happen in your life.
Keeping a diary detailing when your headaches occur, the
severity of the pain and what you were doing at the time can
help you to discover exactly what may be causing your
headaches.
Cause of Migraine Triggers
- Amazingly enough one of the more common triggers is the
prevailing weather. Weather conditions are all about
barometric pressure and a change in the level of pressure
can be a cause of migraine. Obviously you cannot control
the weather but as long as you know about it you can
prepare yourself better. The headache does not then come as
a surprise and you are better able to deal with it. So
watching out for and being aware of changing weather
patterns will help you to weather the storm, so to
speak.
- Bright sunlight or fluorescent light, particularly if
it flickers, can also trigger a migraine headache. Wearing
sunglasses when the day is especially bright will help.
Being able to use incandescent or natural light at your
work station, if possible, is preferable to relying solely
on fluorescent light. If at all possible switch it
off.
- Hormones can also have an effect on the frequency and
severity of migraine headaches. This affects women more
than men. And in fact many women experience more migraines
during their menstrual period than at any other time of the
month. This can also occur when hormone levels change as a
result of giving birth or entering the menopause. Taking
birth control pills can also affect the frequency of
migraines, up or down.
- Diet can also be a factor when looking to determine the
cause of migraine. And in fact
there are several foods that have been recognized as likely
migraine triggers. Among the many foods identified as
possible problems are cheese, red wine, beer, broad beans
and processed meat. Other migraine triggers include food
additives like MSG and aspartame.
Pinpointing and Managing Your Cause of
Migraine
Not all migraines are triggered by these causes and in fact
your migraine attack may not be triggered by any of these
causes. There may only be a couple things that have a hand in
your cause of migraine.
What you need to do is pinpoint the triggers that are
relevant to you. How do you do that? Keep a diary and record
the date, time and whatever’s happening when you suffer from
one. When you know what causes migraines, just by managing
those actual triggers you will be able to avoid many of these
chronic headaches. .
